Celebrating our First Team

Our annual Player of the Year awards night, held at Camelon Juniors Social Club, was a great opportunity to celebrate the First Team’s best result for 4 seasons, gaining 41 points and scoring 55 goals.  A perfect end to our existence as a Junior League team as we prepare to move up to the East of Scotland League.

Manager, Gordon Herd, addressed the crowd with his review of the year, speaking of how a very young team has lifted from difficult moments to the amazing end to the season.  He gave thanks to the rest of his Management and Coaching Team – Eamon Fullerton, Jason Bolam, John Millar, Ali Jenkins and Emma Harper – and also to the committee who have supported him with his plan to bring these young players on.

Awards for Top Scorer, Players Player of the Year, Committee Player of the Year and Young (21 or under) Player of the Year were given out.  The Top Scorer award had extra significance as a trophy was discovered that hadn’t been given out for many years.  The Evan Alexander Trophy was presented by his grandson, Local Councillor David Alexander.
