Under 20s Signing News – Jay Buist

Camelon Juniors Under 20s are pleased to announce the signing of Jay Buist.

On securing Jay’s signature, Head of Youth Development Gary Clark said “I am delighted to have signed Jay. He is a fantastic player with a great future at the club and makes a great addition to the squad. I’m sure he will also push for a place in the first team in the near future. For a young player he comes with massive experience in the game having played for clubs including Syngenta and Pennies.”

There’ll be further announcements of even more signings for the under 20s as the season draws near.

Head of Youth Development Gary Clark welcomes Jay Buist to the club

Youth Development News

Last night was a momentous occasion for one of our new youth teams.

The 2006/07 team, led by Graeme Anderson, held a signing evening at Carmuirs Park and the players even got to play on the main pitch too. Head of Youth Development Gary Clark and Committee member Allan Morrison were there to support the coaches, players and parents during the evening.

We are thrilled at how many Camelon children are in the team. This is one of the reasons for our youth teams – to support and encourage the talent within our local children as well as involving other talent from across the region too. It’s what we all sign up to when we say we’re a community club and encourage people to “support local”.

Also showing the strength of community and family spirit throughout the whole club, first team striker Kieran Anderson came down to the park and spoke to the children in this young team to encourage them.

Congratulations to all involved and for the new signings, welcome to the CJFC family!

New Signing – Kieran Anderson

Camelon Juniors are pleased to announce the signing of 23 year old forward Kieran Anderson from Broxburn Athletic.

Manager Gordon Herd said he was “over the moon to get Kieran. We tried to get him last season but he decided to stay at Broxburn. He’s caused us no end of problems every time he’s played against us so its great we have him on our side now. He gives us a new dimension to how we can play and I can’t wait to see him in a Camelon jersey.”

Kieran had spent the last three years at Broxburn and has previously been at Bo’ness and Stenhousemuir, where he started in the under 20’s.

Gordon added: “I’d like to thank Tony and the rest of the committee for getting Kieran over the line. It shows real ambition for the club.”

Welcome to the mighty Mariners Kieran.

New Signing – Connor McMullan

Camelon Juniors are pleased to announce the signing of 19 year old midfielder Connor McMullan from Stirling Albion.  The young Dunipace born player, who signed his first pro contract last June, has come through the Binos Youth Development programme for a number of years.

Manager Gordon Herd said he was “delighted to get Connor signed up.  He showed up really well in the bounce game we organised the other week and has played several games for Stirling Albion’s first team this season.  He gives us another dimension to the team with his ability.”

Gordon added, “that concludes our business as that’s the squad ready to go for pre season.  Roll on next season!”

Welcome to the mighty Mariners Connor!

New Signings

Camelon Juniors are very pleased to announce the signing of defender Ryan Lockie and forward Ross Cameron from Stirling Albion.

Ryan joined the Mariners at the start of the season on a short term loan, but having played a strong role in the team, extended his loan in January to the end of this season.

Ross joined his teammate at the Mariners in February on a development loan, also to the end of the season.

We’re thrilled that now they’ve both made the move to Carmuirs Park permanent.

Both players scored stunning free kicks in our 4-3 win over Newtongrange Star in our last Junior League match. A great way to celebrate their permanent move to the club.

Manager Gordon Herd, wasting no time in completing this fantastic piece of business said, “I’m delighted to get the two boys from Stirling Albion. They’re two players with great potential and I didn’t think I’d get them as they’d been offered pre-season deals at Stirling Albion. It’s a good coup for us as we build for next season.”

Contract News – Liam McCroary

We’re pleased to announce that 21 year old central midfielder Liam McCroary has signed a new contract to keep him with us until at least the end of next season.

Liam joined us in December and has been a regular presence either in midfield or defence and has fitted in very well with the team.

We’re really pleased that Liam has chosen to stay with the club to help us build on our development plans.

New (re) signing – Jordan Devlin

Camelon Juniors are pleased to announce the return to the club of experienced full back Jordan Devlin.  Ahead of his formal signing, Jordan appeared as a substitute on Wednesday against Linlithgow much to the delight of fans with whom he is a popular figure.

Manager, Gordon Herd, says “it is good to get Jordan signed again.  He’ll be a bit behind in fitness but as shown on Wednesday, he can come on and do a job for us.  He’s also a good lad to have about the changing room and it helps he’s already been part of the club before as he knows a lot of the boys from before.  So he’ll be a good addition at this point in the season.”

Welcome back Jordan.  We’re really pleased you’ve chosen to come back to the club.

Contract News – Don Morrison

We are very pleased to announce that Club Captain, 28 year old Don Morrison, has signed a new contract to keep him with us until at least the end of next season.

Don came to us in the summer of 2016 from Bo’ness, and has been a great addition to the Club.  He provides a strong presence in the centre of defence and isn’t afraid to venture further up the park as well.

Since injury forced John Millar to retire earlier this year, Don has taken on the captaincy of the club full time, having deputised on occasion when John was unavailable.  With this role, Don provides a steadying voice to encourage and motivate the rest of the team.

We’re really pleased that Don has chosen to stay with the club to help us build on our development plans.
