New Signing – Keir Macaulay

Camelon Juniors FC are pleased to announce the signing of Keir Macaulay on a permanent transfer from Kelty Hearts. The left back signed his first professional contract with the Fife side in 2018 and has played over 20 games for them in the Lowland League.

Manager Gordon Herd commented “We’ve been after Keir for a while to add a new dimension to our back four. He’s a very vocal player and fits the profile of the kind of young and hungry players we’re looking for. I’m grateful to the committee for backing us in this deal.”

Keir joins on a deal that will keep him at Carmuirs until at least 2022.

Welcome to the Mighty Mariners Keir.

New Signing – Stephen Docherty

Camelon Juniors are pleased to announce the signing of Stephen Docherty from East Kilbride FC.

The forward featured a number of times last season for the Lowland League club and had various clubs interested in signing him.

Stephen is no stranger to Camelon, having played against the Mariners in a cup tie last season, plus he will have heard all about what it’s like to play for the club from older brother Alan, who was our top scorer last season.

Manager Gordon Herd said “we’ve been after Stephen for a wee while and are delighted he agreed to come despite strong offers from other clubs. He will add another dimension to the side as we work towards winning the East of Scotland League. Hopefully him and his brother Alan can spur each other on!”

Welcome to the Mighty Mariners Stephen!

Club statement

As you may know, 1920 was the year that Camelon Juniors Football Club, as we know it, was founded. As a committee, we had grand plans to celebrate it and hopefully we will still be able to do these down the line.

However, in the midst of a global pandemic we’ve found a new way to mark the occasion. Many of our players, coaches, volunteers and staff are now helping to distribute food to the most vulnerable in our community, in partnership with the Camelon Community Hub. We are also going to be helping to look after the children of front line staff over the Easter break by delivering sporting activities at the local hub school with Falkirk Community Trust.

Our community has stood with us for 100 years and now we stand with them. I can’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate our club centenary than this.

Taking this one step further, the committee have decided that NHS staff will receive free entry to all our games next season. Simply show your ID badge, come in and be part of our family. It’s just a small thank you from us to you.

Stay safe – stay home.
