Moving on – Blair Sneddon

Camelon Juniors FC can announce the transfer of defender Blair Sneddon to Falkirk FC on a three-year deal.

Club Secretary Tony Smith said “we’re really pleased for Blair and his family. I will miss standing with his dad at games. It really does show that you can achieve your goals if you work hard and don’t give up. I’d like to thank Andy Thomson and Gary Deans at Falkirk for their professionalism and the way they conducted the business with us.”

Manager Gordon Herd said “we’re proud to see Blair secure this full-time contract. He took some early knocks in his career but he came to us, worked hard, and allowed us to help develop him. We are delighted he’s found his form again that was backed up by him securing his place in the Scottish School Boys squad last season. He’s a great example that if you take early knocks, the door is not always shut. This is a key focus of the club to develop young players and enable them to work their way up the leagues.”

We will miss you Blair but wish you every success at Falkirk. Here’s his interview for FalkirkTV.

Scottish School Boys International Squad 2019/20

Camelon Juniors FC are proud to report that 17 year old first team defender Blair Sneddon has been selected to be part of the Scottish School Boys International Squad for 2019/20.

At a final trial match yesterday, Blair was chosen to be part of the squad of 18 boys selected from across Scotland. He is the first Camelon player to be chosen to play at this level. What an honour. Well done Blair.

Sadly, our u20s defender Grant Wotherspoon did not make the final squad. It is quite unprecedented for a club at tier six to have two players in the final trials, so he should be very proud of himself and all he has achieved so far. We’re certainly proud of him.

This is a massive occasion for Camelon that everyone connected with the club can be proud of. Proof of the strength of talent and strong pathway opportunities that we have right from the youngest academy player to the oldest first team player.

Well done lads.

Signing News – Blair Sneddon

Camelon Juniors FC are pleased to welcome 17 year old left back/midfielder Blair Sneddon into the First Team. He joins from Stirling Albion on an initial one year contract.

Some hard negotiating went on behind the scenes as we beat off stiff competition for the talented youngster, including from Hibs, but thankfully he chose to place his signature at Carmuirs Park.

Welcome to the mighty Mariners Blair.
